BMW in Myanmar: An Overview
Myanmar customers are relatively familiar with the M and S series. There are also some luxurious and expensive BMWs such as the BMW L7. In SUV, most prefer the X5, a luxury SUV with an engine size of 3000 cc and 4400 cc. With the big engine, the vehicle is also fuel-consuming. The low fuel-efficiency makes the X5 less reachable to most drivers in Myanmar, and yet a BMW is meant mostly for the upper-class of the Myanmar society. The most-common, popular BMW model is the 2005 X5 which costs approximately 600L Kyats for a used model, provided the condition is very good.
BMW in Myanmar: Outstanding performance & technology
In 1962, BMW started releasing the 1500 and 1600 series of quality sport saloons which put them on the automotive map. These lines included the 2800 CS coupe and 2,5 CS sedan. BMW was also successful on the motorsports scene as it won the F2 European championship and the European Touring Car championship in 1973. It also won the Formula One World in 1983.
BMW has a diverse array of expertise in terms of fabrication. They manufacture aircraft engines as well as motorcycles apart from luxury cars. This means that the BMW technology is a crossover of different manufacturing domains. This lends BMW a very distinct advantage over its competitors such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari and Lexus. The number of technological innovations introduced to the automobile world by BMW is astounding. They include, among others, High Precision Injection, Adaptive Headlights, Dynamic Stability Control, Twin Turbo Diesel, Brake Energy Regeneration and many more. BMW vehicles are second to none in terms of performance and technology. BMW is also flexible with the off-road and the on-road characteristics.
