Subaru for sale in the Myanmar
Subaru is a Japanese automaker company under the Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) conglomerate. The company is known for developing boxer engine layouts for most of its 1500cc vehicles and for its all-wheel drive designs.
The company started its operations in Myanmar in the recent years, although no official showroom or service centers in Yangon. Subaru models popular and widely available in Myanmar are mostly SUVs.
Fuji Industries was founded by Chikuhei Nakajima and started out as an aircraft manufacturing company in 1915. Subaru then merged with FHI in 1954, a few years after the end of World War II.
In 1972, Subaru was the first auto company to release a commercial vehicle with all wheel drive (AWD) drivetrains- known as the Subaru Leone.
A standard feature in Subaru’s car mechanics is its horizontally-opposed boxer engine. The design according to Subaru, delivers a stabler, safer and more enjoyable driving experience. Subaru’s passenger vehicles are equipped with Subaru Boxer diesel engines.
Other features used by Subaru include its body structure design which has a low center of gravity, horizontal symmetry on its core tenets and symmetrical AWD. These combine to create a hybrid package consisting of adaptive cruise control, with a feel of CVT technology and fuel efficiency.
In Japanese, “Subaru” means “to unite”. It is also the Japanese name of the Pleiades seven star cluster. Subaru’s six star logo was derived from this concept. The company’s slogan “Confidence in Motion,” reflects just how much emphasis the company puts on developing the handling ability of its cars and the overall driving experience.
The most recognizable Subaru model in the Myanmar is the Subaru Forester, a low priced crossover SUV that could easily be compared to the Mazda CX-7 and the Honda CR-V, specs and performance wise.
The Subaru Impreza, a compact vehicle, was also received positively in the country. Now on its fourth generation, the Impreza has two variants: a five-door hatchback and a four-door sedan.
Other worthwhile models include the Subaru Outback, the number one wagon in the US and the Subaru Legacy, a mid size car.
