Volkswagen for sale in Myanmar
Volkswagen or VW is a German automotive manufacturer and the second largest automaker in the world. The brand is one of the most well-loved names in the automotive industry. The German word “Volkswagen” means “the people’s car”.
In 1931, popular car designer Ferdinand Porsche designed the “Volkauto” in response to the demand for a “people’s car” that every German citizen could avail of. Porsche came up with a “beetle-shaped” car with a torsion bar suspension, air-cooled rear engine, and a rounded front hood. Six years later, the German Labor Front founded the car company Volkswagen.
Despite having a higher price tag, Volkswagen models uphold a reputation of excellence with their upscale driving experience and refined handling. The brand’s popularity reached great heights when it released the iconic Volkswagen Beetle (Type 1), which came to be known as the “love bug”. Today, a number of its car models take their shape from this classic car.

During the 1950s, the Volkswagen Bus (Type 2), a light commercial vehicle and the Volkswagen Beetle, became best sellers. By 1955, Volkswagen’s Wolfsburg factory produced 1 million Beetle models.
In 1972, the Beetle’s 15 millionth assembled unit broke the production record held by Ford’s Model T. Years later, Volkswagen developed a new line of products that had front-mounted engines with water-cooling technology and front wheel drivetrains.
